Code Builder for REALbasic™

Code Builder is a tool that helps REALbasic developers build database applications more quickly, by generating database access code that uses Data Objects to eliminate much of the complexity and many of the challenges of interacting with relational databases through REALbasic.

While Code Builder has been designed to work with the OpenBase SQL database, the code that it generates is generic enough so that programs can be used with other database back-ends. One of the design goals was to maintain API compatibility with the standard REALbasic interface.

Code Builder creates an abstraction layer that insulates the program code from the structure of the data. Rather than writing code to manage interaction with each type of information in the database, Code Builder generates bug-free source code that is manages this for you. Business logic can also be added directly to these objects, allowing their behavior to be modified centrally. This maximizes code re-use and maintainability.
